Homemade Tortilla Chips
January 29, 2008 by whereindc
I swear I used to do this before I saw it on Take Home Chef, but I love making my own tortilla chips for a few reasons. Mostly because I love to eat them when they’re hot and I get to control the amount of salt!
But, they are also insanely easy to make and most people are shocked when you tell them that you made it from scratch.
I usually buy these corn tortillas (but not by the case). Then I heat my wok (I think it works better) and pour about 1 1/2-2 inches of canola or vegetable oil.
Then I take 4-5 corn tortillas and cut them into 8ths (like a pie). Then I fry the corn tortillas until golden. Remove and put onto a paper towel and salt.
So yummy! You’ll want to make them all the time!
