I was catching up on my weekend Wall Street Journal this morning and caught two very interesting food stories.

At first, I was worried about posting about it because WSJ’s content isn’t usually free, but these are both free!

One was by Katy McLaughlin called, “A New Taste Sensation” talking about the fifth taste sensation, “umami.”  In the story, you can see the 10 ingredients chefs are turning to for “ramping up” the umami taste (click Umami boosters — tried to include the link here but it didn’t work).  She offers a couple of recipes too at the bottom.
