I had ventured to Trader Joe’s and bought some tasty mozzarella.  My mind instantly thought of warm Mozzarella di Bufala with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Kosher salt, and fresh ground black pepper.  Yum.

So, I think my excitement got the best of me because I forgot to buy a baguette to go with it.  Instead of going back to the store, I figured I’d just make one. 

I found this great recipe from Tyler Florence for baguettes.  While I didn’t get 4 out of my dough (mainly because I only let it rise for half the time each time), I still though the bread was tasty.  The exterior was crunchy and the inside of soft and warm.

I’d definitely make it again because it’s so good and there’s something about baking fresh bread.  Warning though — it takes 4 hours (or at least 2) for it to rise!

Oh, and I did eat it with the mozzarella.  So good!
