I had buttermilk in my fridge for some other recipe, so I decided to finally make buttermilk biscuits.  After combing through thousands of recipes, I thought that one looked yummy.

In my recipe, I substituted 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour instead of using the full 2 cups of unbleached.  The reason — I was out of regular flour. 

Oh dear God.  These are spectacular.  I’ve never made a biscuit that actually had the layers.  Look at it — you can see the layers!

It’s flaky, moist, and so yum.  Wow.  You must make this recipe!  Oh, and the reason the one in the middle looks weird (meaning ugly) is because it was the last of the dough.
